At the bottom of the page are a few basic FAQ about some of the issues we get most asked about. You can leave your own question on the articles so long as they are on topic or get more advice about your own supernatural experiences in our forums and chat room community.
The Paranormal Explained
I have categorized articles under my books so please see the links from these sections for our many articles about the paranormal:
What do the words ‘Paranormal’ and ‘Supernatural’ mean?
Paranormal means events and occurrences that are impossible to explain scientifically. Supernatural means relating to or attributed to phenomena that cannot be explained by natural laws. People assume that all this has to be spooky and weird but in my opinion – as a medium of many years – all the phenomena I have met are part of the natural order of things. By calling them paranormal or supernatural implies that they are not worthy of study by science. For example, just because science cannot yet fully explain the relationship between gravity and energy it does not make it something paranormal or supernatural. Perhaps we’d be better for now calling all these things ‘the unexplained’.
What research has been done into the paranormal?
The first repeatable experiments to test psychism were attempted by the brilliant scientist Sir William Crookes. Some of the most important work was initially done by the researcher Joseph Banks Rhine who founded some of the first scientific research in parapsychology as a branch of psychology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, United States. He exposed the trickery of the fraudulent medium Mina Crandon but also set up proper scientific tests to investigate Extra Sensory Perception. These included tests for telepathy, precognition, clairvoyance and psychokinesis. Scientific research continues today at the Edinburgh Chair of Parapsychology in Scotland and the Society of Psychical Research in the UK and USA. And of course there are many scientists today who are prepared to investigate these phenomena such as professor of physics Dr Jan W Vandersande, physicist Dr Dick Bierman, biologist Dr Rupert Sheldrake, Professor David Fontana and a great many more.
Who are the most important paranormal researchers to date?
My personal favourite is Victor Zammit – he not a researcher but a lawyer who is fighting to properly present the evidence to the closed-minded skeptical community headed by people such as the conjurer James Randi and the biologist Richard Dawkins. Here are a few of the names he cites as very important people who support the proposal that the afterlife and ESP are real: Dr Peter Fenwick, Dr Peter Bander, Dr Charles Tart, Professor David Fontana, Dr Carla Wills-Brandon, Dr. Rupert Sheldrake, Professor William James, Dr Karlis Osis, Dr Raymond Moody, Emmanuel Swedenborg, Prof. Alfred Wallace, Dr Carl Wickland, Professor Marilyn Schlitz, Professor James Hyslop, Dr Glen Hamilton, Dr Arthur Guirdham, Dr Ian Stevenson, Dr Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, Dr Morris Nertherton, Professor Jessica Utts, Professor J.W. Crawford, Dr Robert Crookal, Dr Michael Sabom, Professor Archie Roy, Dr Claude Swanson, Dr Helen Wambach, Dr Pim Van Lommel, Professor Wadhams, Dr Jan W Vandersande, Judge Dean Shuart, Dr Ernst Senkowski, Dr Hans Schaer, Dr Kenneth Ring, Lawyer Dr Aubrey Rose, Nobel Laureate Professor Charles Richet, Drs J.B. and Louisa Rhine, Dr.Konstantine Raudive, Professor Charles Hapgood, Professor Arthur Ellison, Dr Peter Ramster, Lawyer Edward C Randall, Dr Julie Beischel, Professor John Bockris, John Logie Baird, Dr Edith Fiore, Professor Festa, Dr Amit Goswami, Professor Gustav Geley, Dr Melvin Morse, Professor Sylvia Hart-Wright, Professor Ivor Grattan-Guinesss, Professor Stanislav Grof and Drs Jeff and Jody Long.
Where can I learn more about the paranormal world?
Apart from the online classes and teaching we offer on this site you could consider studying at the Arthur Findlay College Stansted Mountfitchet CM 248. This is a college for the development of mediums but also offers many interesting classes and courses on related topics.
