THE GARDENS OF HEAVEN
I was sitting in my lounge, I wasn't ill or asleep, when I 'saw' a beautiful garden in front of me. The grass was so green and smooth and the colours were out of this world.
I cannot adequately describe it- so brilliant yet so soft and peaceful. Then, like a book slamming shut, the vision was gone.
I didn't dream this experience, I really saw it. I know that if it was the afterlife that I saw, then I shall never be afraid of death, perhaps of dying, but not of death.

 Your experience reminds me of the poetry and waking visions of William Blake who wrote the famous hymn 'Jerusalem'. His friends, who sat with him as he died, say that he saw before him a beautiful celestial garden.
Although in much pain he burst into song proclaiming 'the joys he saw in heaven'. An overwhelming visionary experience, such as the one you had, can change your views of life and death forever.
