A GHOSTLY ABBOT HEALED ME

I used to suffer terribly from an ulcerated leg which involved me going to hospital three days a week over five years. One night the pain became so bad that I sat on the side of my bed and wept. I held my cross in my hand and begged the spirit world to help me.

When I looked up I saw the figure of an abbot stood in front of me. He spoke: "Take some grapes and squeeze their juice into the ulcers. Place the pulp on them, cover with a clean bandage then rest a while. God bless you." He was gone as quickly as he came.

My daughters thought me mad when I explained what had happened and how I intended to follow the ghost's instructions. I did as directed for three days. In two week's time the ulcers had vanished completely and have never come back. The doctor couldn't believe what he saw "You have achieved in two weeks what I have failed to accomplish in five years!" he said.

I didn't tell him about the abbot for fear he'd think me mad but what I tell you is the absolute truth.

The fact I saw an Abbot also puzzles me. Doesn't it say in the Bible that we are not supposed to talk to the dead?

Believe it or not you are not the first person who has had medical cures given to them from the spirit world. The American psychic Edgar Cayce used to go into a sleep like state and relay cures based upon easily available herbs and foods that resulted in remarkable healing. There are a lot of natural healing enzymes and steroids in fruits. For example, chili pepper extracts are reported to cure migraine; quinine comes from the bark of a tree; and there is serious research currently being done with curative effect of pomegranates  

Some Christians believe that contacting the dead is against the Christian teachings and that the spirits that mediums talk to are real spirits but imposters - what they call familiar spirits - spirits that impersonate our loved ones. Spiritualists quote passages from the Bible that condone spirit contact as okay and many Christians quote passages that condemn mediumship. The Bible was written by men - and many of the early Christians were just as divided by these issues as people are today.

To settle the issue, in 1937 Spiritualism was investigated by Church of England Committee set up by the then Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Gordon Cosmo Lang. Its subsequent favourable report by the church was never published and its contents only became known when released by "Psychic News" who had been mysteriously sent a copy.  Many Spiritualists say it comes down favourable on the side of Spiritualism but I don't really see that. It is a report by people who believe in a Holy Ghost, without evidence, deciding Spiritualists are harmless.... but in my opinion that's about as far as it goes.

I believe we can learn from all the main world religions. I am just as inspired by the words of Jesus as I am by those of Buddha, Krishna, Mohammed and so on. All have something to offer us on the path to divine realisation. In all religions you can find quotations that both condemn and support mediumship. I believe that in the final analysis we have to KNOW TRUTH DIRECTLY and no intermediary whether it be a medium, spirit of a Abbot, a saint, avatar or godman can make this realisation for us. You are the only person who can realise your own divine nature. Nobody else can do this for you.
