Video Interviews with Indian Gurus
Craig interviews an Indian Guru about life after death, the Lokas and the Hindu view of the spirit world. In this interview with an Indian Guru Craig talks to Vanamali Mataji from Rishikesh.
In this interview, we also talk about the role of miracles in spirituality, Reincarnation and the journey of the soul after death. Can the personality survive death? What do Indian Gurus say about this and our last thought before we leave this world?
Craig enjoyed her Bhagavad Gita Talks at the Vanamali Ashram in October 2012. Here he interviews her when she came to the UK to visit the yoga sanctuary in Southampton.
Mataji Vanamali says that she is not a yogi or a sadhu, but a gopi or vassal of Lord Krishna. She was blessed and given mantra upadesam by her guru, Sri Jayendra Saraswati, who is one of the leading religious figures in Hinduism today. While in Rishikesh, we visited her at her home, which doubles as an ashram called Vanamali Gita Yogashram, described on its website as “poised on a cliff, overlooking the fascinating Ganga as she gushes down the rocks.”
It forgets to mention that it is located next door to the leper colony she helps to maintain. Apart from its spiritual activities, the ashram also does service to the poor people of the village. About 150 of the village children have been adopted by the ashram and given clothes, food, and help with education. The ashram has also started a project to provide small cottages for very poor and deserving families of the village.
This video was filmed at The Yoga Sanctuary in Southampton.
